Gunman believed to be serial robber

Landing forced of JetBlue airliner

LONG BEACH - A JetBlue airliner made an emergency landing at Long Beach Municipal Airport early Saturday after a warning light indicated a problem.

8,000 affected by power outages

There were at least four other outages caused by wind or rain between 6 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday, she said. Power has since been restored to all of the affected customers.

On top of the weather-related problems, 1,224 customers lost power when a vehicle struck a power pole about 4 a.m. Saturday in Atwater Village, said Wasson. Electricity was restored about an hour later.

Los Angeles police arrested a man suspected of using Internet chat rooms to lure children for sex.

Man, woman shot in car at city park

LANCASTER - Detectives were investigating the shooting of a man and woman who were found wounded early Saturday while sitting in a parked car at a city park, officials said.

The victims' names were not released, and Lancaster sheriff's station officials released little information, saying the case may turn into a homicide that will be turned over to homicide bureau investigators.

Both victims were hospitalized in critical condition Saturday, officials said.

Another collision with Orange Line

WOODLAND HILLS - Another crash involving a Metro Orange Line bus was reported in Woodland Hills on Saturday afternoon, but injuries were minor, police said.

A motorist turned right against a red right-turn arrow from Victory Boulevard onto Mason Avenue, driving into the path of a bus on the Orange Line busway that parallels Victory, police said. The bus hit her vehicle on its right side.

The woman complained of pain, as did one or two bus passengers, but no one was transported by ambulance, Sgt. Randry Modrell said.
