BRIEFLY.Gunwoman robs doughnut store PALMDALE - A young woman bought two doughnuts at a doughnut shop, then pulled a gun out of her pocket and demanded the money from the cash register, deputies said. The woman, about 18 to 20 years old, walked into the Donut Inn in the 44400 block of Valley Central Way just before midnight Tuesday and put down cash for the two doughnuts. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the woman pulled out a revolver and demanded the money, deputies said. The woman drove off in a large gray two-door sedan. -Daily News Son second to die from car rollover CALIFORNIA CITY - An Apple Valley man has died from injuries suffered in a crash that killed his father, Kern County officials said. Timothy Bernard Leary, 23, died Tuesday at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield of injuries he had suffered Saturday when the car his father was driving ran off Neuralia Road and overturned several times, coroner's officials said. John Leary, 51, of California City, died at the scene, officials said. Coroner's officials said the elder Leary appeared to have been drinking. -Daily News |
