Arts commission needs 2 members

SIMI VALLEY - The city is accepting applications through June 7 to fill two seats on the Simi Valley Arts Commission, which oversees the operations and programming of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.

The seven-member panel meets quarterly at Simi Valley City Hall. The selected applicants will serve two-year terms of office from July 1 to June 30, 2007.

Council to accept input on budget

SIMI VALLEY - The City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the city's preliminary budget for 2005-06.

The meeting will provide citizens with the opportunity to give their input on any budget item and provide ideas that they believe should be included in next year's budget.

Copies of the preliminary base budget are available at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, and the library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.
