Man arrested after

police car rammed

SPRINGFIELD - A 31-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly attempted to elude e·lude

 officers and rammed the stolen car he was driving into a police car, police said.

Shortly before 7 a.m. police attempted to stop Troy Dwayne Rhodes in the 6400 block of A Street after the owner of the car spotted Rhodes driving his vehicle and notified authorities, said Springfield Sgt. John Umenhofer.

Officers chased the driver until he rammed the car into a police cruiser driven by Officer Larry Turner

Lawrence Turner (born March 8, 1982 in New Carlisle, Ohio) was an American football center for the St. Louis Rams of the NFL. He attended Eastern Kentucky University.

Rhodes was arrested after a brief struggle. He was charged with robbery, eluding e·lude

He was held at Lane County Jail.
