`Miracle Lights Tour'

to benefit children

The seventh annual "Miracle Lights Tour," presented by Laidlaw Education Services to benefit Children's Miracle Network The Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is an international non-profit organization that raises funds for Children's hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children's health issues. , will be held in Eugene and Springfield Dec. 16-23 at 6:30 p.m.

The Eugene tour will load at Valley River Center Valley River Center is a shopping mall located in Eugene, Oregon. As the largest shopping center south of Portland and north of San Francisco, this mall comprises over 130 local and national stores and restaurants.  parking lot, 3610 Goodpasture Loop, near Rife's Home Furnishings. The Springfield tour will load from Jerry's Home Improvement Center, 2525 Olympic St., Springfield.

Advance tickets are required. Ticket prices are $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 2 to 12. To reserve a seat, call 688-0454 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Program planning topic

for voter league meetings

The topic of the League of Women Voters' December unit meetings will be "Program Planning - State and Local." Unit meetings are for members and guests to gather at homes and public places to discuss the month's topic.

Unit 6 will meet at 11 a.m. Monday at 1953 Yolanda Ave., Springfield; and Unit 2 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at 2050 Madison St., Eugene.

Unit 3 will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1527 Corum Ave., Eugene. Unit 5 will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Central Presbyterian Church Located on the northeast corner of Brazos and Bois d'Arc (now Eighth Street), Central Presbyterian Church in Austin Texas traces its roots to the organization of the first Presbyterian church in Austin on Sunday, October 13, 1839. for parks to meet Tuesday

The Santa Clara Committee for Sensible Parks and Open Space will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Santa Clara Grange, end of Azalea azalea (əzāl`yə) [Gr.,=dry], any species of the genus Rhododendron, North American and Asian shrubs of the family Ericaceae (heath family) that are distinguished by the usually deciduous leaves.  Drive, east of River Road.  society classes to get under way

The Oregon Genealogical Society's slate of winter classes will get under way early next month.

The classes take place at the society library, 955 Oak Alley in Eugene, and run from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturdays from Jan. 8 through Feb. 19. Each class costs $5. The topics will include writing your research, computer software for genealogists, costume preservation, using scanners, organizing by theme and ancestor research on the Internet.
