Boat registrations under way

The Oregon State Marine Board mailed courtesy renewal notices to nearly 100,000 Oregon boat owners during November. Boaters with "03" registration stickers on their boat will be the first to renew under the new "simplified" fee structure approved by the 2003 Oregon Legislature. The registration fee is now a flat $3 per foot, or portion of a foot, no matter what the vessel type. The old fee system was based on a sliding scale slidĀ·ing scale

.

Also new for boat owners is the option of renewing their registration online and paying the fee by credit card. Those who prefer the old method can still register by mail or visit a registration agent. Oregon boat fees are good for two years.
