 forward Josh Shipp Josh Shipp (born 23 January in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) is an American motivational speaker and author focusing on youth and college-aged audiences. He is noted as being one of the youngest speakers ever accepted into the National Speakers Association.  underwent successful arthroscopic right hip surgery Wednesday and will be out for about 8-12 weeks.

Shipp had an outpatient procedure performed by Dr. Carlos A. Gaunche, the Shipp family's physician, who said there was no arthritis or a degenerative condition in his hip in a statement released by UCLA. Josh Shipp's brother, Joe, who played at Cal, had an unrelated hip surgery about a year ago.

Shipp, a sophomore forward, is one of four returning starters. He averaged 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 27.9 minutes for the Bruins.
