`Second season' for trout opens

Trout season opens Saturday for many Willamette Basin and coastal streams and rivers. The start of fishing season in those waters opens a month later than most other waters to provide juvenile salmon and steelhead a chance to migrate to the ocean without being caught by trout anglers. Also opening Saturday is the fishing season at Gold Lake and the Erma Bell lakes in eastern Lane County. Those openings are delayed to avoid targeting spawning rainbow. Check the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations for bag limits and other details.
