More housing at CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  slated

NORTHRIDGE -- Construction of a $30 million housing complex for students will begin next year at California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an  to help meet the demand for those who want to live on campus, officials announced Monday.

The new complex is expected to be built on a 2.8-acre site between the current student housing at Lassen Street between Lindley and Zelzah avenues and the university's outdoor track. Funding for the project comes from student housing rents.

University officials said there are more than 400 students on a waiting list for campus housing.

The new facility will include two buildings that will provide living space for 396 students beginning in fall 2009.

Baby girl injured by falling TV set

Three men set off Sunday to meet a friend along the trail when an argument escalated and one of the hikers started swinging a baseball bat and another pulled out a large sword, investigators said.
