Gregory Larson, 35, of Simi Valley was walking near the tracks with a friend on his way to Snooky's Bar about 8:05 p.m. when a westbound Amtrak Amtrak, the National Railroad Passenger Corp., authorized to operate virtually all intercity passenger railroad routes in the United States. Firefighter hit by branch at fire

The injured firefighter was hit in the head by a tree branch and was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a hospital in the Northridge town of Los Angeles, California, USA. It is currently operated by Catholic Healthcare West. History

Firefighters hurt fighting blaze

WOODLAND HILLS -- Two firefighters suffered burned hands Saturday while knocking down a blaze at an empty commercial building, a fire official said.

The "well-involved" fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. at Rees and Sons Painting, 23032 Leonora Drive, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Ventura woman is stabbing victim

CALABASAS -- A woman allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend was identified Saturday by the coroner's office.

Barbarita Luna, 25, of Ventura was found dead in a car about 9:15 a.m. Friday when deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills station were called to a gas station in the 24000 block of Calabasas Road, said Sgt. Pete Cacheiro of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
