Two men in a pickup truck were burglarizing a home in the 11400 block of Laurelcrest Drive shortly before 12:30 p.m. when the resident came home and they fled, said Sgt. Kent Pollard of the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Station. One suspect ran down the side of the property and broke his leg after falling off a two-foot drop to the street, he said. A neighbor spotted the injured man lying in the street, assumed he was an injured gardener and offered him a ride to the hospital, Pollard said. The neighbor, Mike Cagle, told a news cameraman he became suspicious when the injured man told him not to drive to the hospital. The neighbor said he dropped off the man near Saticoy Street. -- City News Service |
