Adoption advice is being offered

Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  -- An orientation for people interested in adopting abused or neglected children will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road.

Camp Rotary spruce-up set

SIMI VALLEY -- Four local Rotary clubs will join together to spruce up spruce up

Volunteers will work 8 a.m.-noon on Feb. 24. Participants include the Rotary Clubs of Simi Sunrise, Simi Sunset, Simi Valley and Moorpark.

In addition, the Simi Valley club will hold its charity golf tournament April 27 at the Tierra Rejada Golf Club, 15187 Tierra Rejada Road. Entry fees are $150 per player or $600 for a foursome.

Paint Horse Club to give awards

SIMI VALLEY -- The Greater Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Paint Horse Club will hold its annual awards banquet Feb. 20 at the Stray Steer restaurant.

The club with members throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura county areas will be hosting several events this year including a show in August at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and one at the Gateway Equestrian Center in Simi Valley in September.

'Modern Millie' preview is slated

SIMI VALLEY -- The Actors Repertory Theater of Simi will preview their performance of "Thoroughly Modern Millie," 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Simi Valley Town Center Simi Valley Town Center is a shopping center located in Simi Valley, California. The mall opened in 2005 with Macy's and Robinsons-May as anchor stores. The Robinsons-May store was converted into a Macy's Men and Home Store on September 9, 2006. , 1555 Simi Town Center Way.

Safe Passage fundraiser on tap

OAK PARK -- A fundraiser to benefit Safe Passage, which helps protect women and children, 7-10 p.m. Monday at a private home in Oaks Park.
