Parks proposes gun warnings

In an effort to reduce the number of guns sold in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , Councilman Bernard Parks called Tuesday for a requirement that all gun dealers post signs warning about the dangers of firearms.

Parks said he believes that most people are unaware of the instances in which guns are accidentally discharged or used in suicides.

Pedestrian hit, killed on the 210

NORTH HOLLYWOOD -- A couple kidnapped and robbed a North Hollywood woman after persuading her she could help them cash a winning lottery ticket, authorities said Tuesday.

Touch-screen voting now open

Los Angeles officials announced Tuesday that touch-screen voting is now open for the March 6 primary.

Terminals are at Los Angeles City Hall and 14 public libraries as well as the Marvin Braude Constituent Center in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Girl airlifted following fall

SYLMAR -- An 11-year-old girl injured in a fall in Sylmar on Tuesday was flown to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles after showing signs of possible brain damage, authorities said.

Paramedics were called to the 15000 block of Roxford Street at 3:30 p.m., said Melissa Kelley of the Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is the agency that provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Los Angeles. .

The girl was initially taken to County Olive View-UCLA Medical Center Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, USA. The hospital was founded on October 27, 1920, and is funded by Los Angeles County [1].  in Sylmar and transferred to Childrens Hospital, according to Kelley, who said she had no information on how the child was injured.

Help is sought in suspect hunt

LAKE LOS ANGELES -- Sheriff's homicide detectives on Tuesday sought the public's help in tracking down a man in the killing of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend, who was shot to death last week in her home in the Antelope Valley.

Everett Haydale, 28, was shot in the 16800 block of Valeport Avenue in Lake Los Angeles early Friday, said Deputy Maribel Rizo of the sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
