The presentations will highlight overcoming challenges of life, how to build self-confidence and dealing with stress and will feature Patrick Maurer, who offers personal stories providing a message that resonates with students today, officials said.

Several sessions will be held each day at each school beginning Tuesday at Royal High School, where the speeches are scheduled through the day.

No-stopping rules to be enforced

Applications due for funds Feb. 16

CAMARILLO -- The deadline is Feb. 16 for Ventura County students to submit scholarship applications to the Ventura County Community Foundation.

The Scholarship Fund for Ventura County provides more than 50 awards for students at high schools in the county, including forgivable loans to nursing students intending to practice in Ventura County and students who need career technical training at local vocational schools.
