Drunk driving suspect is killed

VAN NUYS -- A suspected drunk driver from Canyon Country was killed early Friday when he lost control of his Honda Civic The Honda Civic is a compact car manufactured by Honda. Not guilty is plea to rape, torture

LANCASTER -- A 23-year-old gang member has pleaded not guilty to charges that he kidnapped, raped and tortured a 19-year-old woman on Christmas Eve.

Deandre Jamaal Thomas is accused of going to the woman's Lancaster home, forcing her into a vehicle, then driving her into the desert, where he beat and sexually assaulted her, officials said.

He is also accused of tying her ankle to the rear bumper of his vehicle and dragging her across the desert floor until the rope snapped. When nearby residents noticed, he threw her back in the car and drove her to a house near 10th Street West and Avenue I, where he tortured and sexually assaulted her through the night, officials said.

The woman was eventually able to call 911 and summon help. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Driver leads cops on slow chase
