Suspect is shot after brief chase

VAN NUYS -- A Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police officer shot a drunk-driving suspect Tuesday night after a 15-minute chase, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. at Woodley Avenue and Sherman Way, LAPD 1. LAPD - Link Access Procedure on the D channel.

 Officer Martha Garcia said. It is unclear what led to the shooting.

No information was available about the person who was shot, including their condition. The officer works in the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division, Garcia said.

The pursuit began about 9:45 p.m. at an unknown location.

Fire threatens Burbank building

BURBANK -- A fire threatened to destroy a one-story Burbank building housing a tax preparation business, authorities said Tuesday.

The blaze at 4411 W. Magnolia Magnolia, city, United States
