BRIEFLY.Man killed, girl hurt in shooting LANCASTER -- A man was shot and killed and a 12-year-old girl wounded when several men walked up to a home and opened fire, sheriff's officials said Saturday. Michael Carter, 47, of Lancaster was attacked outside a home in the 45400 block of Sancroft Avenue shortly before midnight. The shooters ran north on Sancroft Avenue and out of sight. Carter was standing at the front door when unidentified men approached him and fired several shots, sheriff's deputies said in a statement.
