1 dead, 2 injured in Friday shooting

The victims were taken to the Ventura County Medical Center Ventura County Medical Center is a hospital in the city of Ventura, California, USA. It is a 208 bed acute care hospital. The county also operates a 49 bed campus in Santa Paula. , where Miguel Magana, 21, of Santa Paula, died, officials said.

One victim was treated and released while another remained in critical condition. No further information was available.

Man being held in brother's death

EAGLE ROCK -- A man was in custody Saturday after allegedly choking his younger brother Wiki is aware of the following uses of "'Younger Brother":

Darren Rogers, 40, was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder. There was no other immediate information.

Water off beach remains unsafe

MALIBU -- The water at Malibu's Surfrider Beach remained off-limits Saturday after a sewage spill in the city's nearby lagoon, public health officials said.

The popular surfing break and the water a quarter-mile in both directions from the mouth of the Malibu Lagoon will be closed to swimmers until Monday at least, officials said.

One lane of road closed for repairs

One lane on Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Grandview Drive and Highvale Trail, just north of Navajo Street, in Topanga will be closed daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday because of street repairs, according to Caltrans.

The work is part of a $5.5 million, 11-mile construction project on Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Pacific Coast Highway Pacific Coast Highway may refer to:
  • Pacific Coast Highway (United States), a segment of State Route 1 in California
  • Pacific Coast Highway (New Zealand), a 420 kilometre highway http://www.newzealand.
 and Mulholland Drive.

Existing pavement will be replaced with rubberized asphalt concrete, which will be re-striped, and new metal beam guardrails will be installed. Also, roadway shoulders will be widened at certain spots.

MALIBU -- A stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu was closed Saturday after a water main break created a sinkhole up to 15 feet deep and 30 feet wide.

The road between Big Rock Drive and La Tuna Canyon was expected to reopen Monday evening, authorities said.
