Rapper arrested after `Tonight'

BURBANK -- Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested outside NBC studios
NBC Studios was also a previous name for NBC's production division, which is now Universal Media Studios, formerly NBC Universal Television Studio.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was in custody late Tuesday on suspicion of weapon and drug allegations but was expected to post bail of $60,000, said Burbank Police Sgt. Kevin Grandalski.

His car was pulled over by Burbank police while leaving the studio.

``Detectives were serving a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation from his arrest (on a weapons allegation) at the (Burbank) airport back in October,'' Grandalski said.

Two of his companions were also arrested, one on an outstanding warrant and the other on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, Grandalski said.

BURBANK -- Five people were hurt Tuesday in the crash of a car and Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, officials said.

The 11 a.m. crash at Bel Aire Drive and Santa Anita Avenue hurt four of the 20 people on the bus, along with an occupant of the car, officials said. The cause of the collision was under investigation.

Beaten man gets cash from city

The Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.  agreed Tuesday to pay $450,000 to a man whose arrest and beating by police officers was captured on video and resulted in a change in how police subdue suspects.

After a lengthy closed-door session, the council voted 12-0 to award the settlement to Stanley Miller, who was arrested in June 2004 on suspicion of joyriding in a stolen car in Compton.

Miller, 39, an ex-convict, was seen being beaten by officers with their flashlights.

The six officers involved were disciplined and the department changed its flashlights to smaller models and revised its policy to indicate they cannot be used to subdue a suspect.

Cops: Shooting is gang-related

PACOIMA -- Police said Tuesday that they believe the recent shooting that killed a teenage boy and injured another was gang-related.

The two Latino boys, originally reported to be 14 but who were actually 17, were riding bicycles in the 12700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, authorities said.

They were approached by three male Latino gang members wearing dark, hooded sweat shirts.

``There was some gang talk (before shots were fired),'' said Frank Bishop of the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Division.
