Dead man found beside freeway

 officers found a dead man lying face-down on the right shoulder of the southbound Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Originally built as U.S. Highway 99, it was re-signed as Interstate 5 in 1964.  and Western Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, officials said.

There was no indication of a collision, officials said. The man was not immediately identified, and the case is under investigation, officials said.

Bouquet Canyon crash kills one

NEWHALL -- One person was killed Sunday in a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on Bouquet Canyon Road east of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. 4-car collision injures 4 people

NORTHRIDGE -- Four people were injured Sunday in a four-car collision, a fire official said.

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. near Plummer Street and Winnetka Avenue, said Capt. Ron Myers of the Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is the agency that provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Los Angeles. .

Four people were taken to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, Myers said.

Two suffered serious injuries and one person received minor injuries, Myers said. The condition of the fourth victim was not immediately known.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.

 veteran's survivors sought

VENTURA -- The Ventura County coroner's investigators are asking for the public's help in finding relatives of a man who died in Ventura on Nov. 2. They believe he has relatives in the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  area.

Joseph Louis Cavestri, 88, was a World War II veteran who was born in Santa Barbara on Jan. 28, 1918, to Charles and Jennie Cavestri. He married Angie Mary Romero, who died in 1963. He had two stepchildren named John and Charles Lopez.

Coroner's officials ask anyone with information on Cavestri to call their office at (805) 641-4400.

Missing Pacoima man found

PALMDALE -- The body of a 25-year-old Pacoima man who went missing while hunting in the Angeles National Forest The Angeles National Forest (ANF) was established by executive order on December 20, 1892 as the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve. It covers over 2,600 km² (650,000 acres) and is located in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County, just north of the metropolitan area of Los  was recovered Sunday, Lt. Robert Johnson of the Palmdale sheriff's station said.

Eladio Gamez's body was recovered Sunday in the Wrightwood area of the forest, Johnson said.
