Man stabbed twice in stomach

Van, truck crash injures three

SUN VALLEY -- A crash Monday between a van and a truck critically injured one motorist and left two others in serious condition, officials said.

Transient dies after hit-and-run

Fire burns part of sound stage

UNIVERSAL CITY -- A fire at Universal Studios burned down part of a sound stage Monday, but no injuries were reported, officials said.

Woman found after fire ID'd

VAN NUYS -- A woman found dead after a motel fire last week has been identified as a transient, authorities said Monday.

Tyra Tillmon Canada, 47, was discovered Friday morning after a blaze at the Travelodge Motel, 6909 Sepulveda Blvd.

Her cause of death has not been determined yet, said Craig R. Harvey, chief coroner investigator for Los Angeles County Coroner's Department.
