Pedestrian hit, killed by car

CHATSWORTH -- A 72-year-old woman was killed late Monday after being struck by a car as she walked in the road on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police spokesman said.

The driver of the car stopped, called 911 and tried to help the woman, whose name was not released, Officer Mike Lopez said. The incident occurred in the 10700 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, just south of the Ronald Reagan Freeway.

No arrests were made and the pedestrian appeared to be at fault, Lopez said.

Retriever's owner may face charges

Car vandalism leads to arrests
