FBI seeking help in hunt for bandit bandit: see brigandage.  

The FBI is seeking the public's help in identifying the ``Goofy Hat Bandit,'' wanted for two dozen robberies in Southern California, including a heist Monday in Burbank.

He has been linked to robberies in Glendale, Van Nuys, Encino, Century City, West Covina and the South Bay.

The bandit is described as 40-50, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches and 180 to 190 pounds in weight with a muscular build. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (310) 477-6565.

Reward is urged in 200 holdups

Councilman Dennis Zine called Tuesday for the city to offer a $75,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the ski-mask robbers who have targeted local restaurants.

Nearly 200 robberies are believed to have been committed by the armed suspects, who have invaded restaurants, held people at gunpoint and taken money from the businesses and patrons.

Woman arrested in man's stabbing

NEWBURY PARK -- A 25-year-old Newbury Park man was stabbed in the neck by an ex-girlfriend after she invited him into a garage to discuss their relationship, police said Tuesday.

Ashley Partain, 19, of Thousand Oaks was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempted murder. Her bail was set at $500,000.

Partain is accused of luring the unidentified man into a garage in 600 block of Paseo La Perla, stabbing him with a pocket knife, chasing him and threatening to kill him.

The victim was treated at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, police said.
