Pedestrian hit by vehicle

PALMDALE -- A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured Tuesday at Rancho Vista Boulevard and 10th Street West, officials said.

Sheriff's deputies shut down 10th Street West after the 3:15 p.m. accident to let a Fire Department helicopter land to carry away the injured person. No details on the circumstances of the accident or the identity of the victim were immediately available.

Biker crashes into bus

VALYERMO -- A Las Vegas woman was injured when the motorcycle she was riding crashed into a school bus carrying 33 Long Beach college students on a trip to study fault lines in the Angeles National Forest The Angeles National Forest (ANF) was established by executive order on December 20, 1892 as the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve. Hayley Crandall, 23, was heading west on Big Pines Highway west of Largo Vista Road on a 2004 Buel motorcycle about 2:30 p.m. Sunday when she crossed over the center line and collided with the bus driven by Wilbon Miller, 45, of Long Beach.

Imagination open to kids
