Red Line train hits, kills man

HOLLYWOOD -- A man in his 30s died when he was hit by a Red Line train while walking on the tracks, authorities said Sunday.

The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday near the station at Hollywood Boulevard For uses other than the original street, see Hollywood Boulevard (disambiguation).
Hollywood Boulevard is a boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, beginning at Sunset Boulevard in the east and running northwest to Vermont Avenue, where it straightens out
 and Highland Avenue when the train hit the man from behind, police said.

The man's name was not released, and police said he was a transient. Officials hadn't determined Sunday whether the death was an accident or a suicide.

Couple killed by fleeing car driver

Gas climbs nearly 4 cents a gallon

CAMARILLO -- The average retail price of a gallon of gas rose nearly four cents across the nation during the past two weeks, according to according to

Self-serve regular averaged about $2.94 a gallon, up from $2.91 two weeks ago, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the nationwide Lundberg Survey of roughly 7,000 gas stations.

The average price of mid-grade was $3.04 a gallon, up from $3. Premium hit $3.14 a gallon, compared with $3.10 two weeks ago. The survey covered the period from April 21 through last Friday.
