Local councils need volunteers

SIMI VALLEY - Simi Valley's Neighborhood Councils are looking for volunteers to help with the fourth annual Arroyo cleanup April 29 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event will be held at the Arroyo Simi on Madera Road south of Easy Street, with check-in scheduled in the parking lot of Country Floral on Moreland Road.

In 2005, volunteers removed more than five tons of trash from the arroyo.

CLU hosts panel on gang issues

 will host a panel on ``Gang Injunctions: Do They Promote Racial Tensions or Public Safety?'' on April 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the Nelson Room on the campus at 60 W. Olsen Road.

Holocaust event set for April 25

THOUSAND OAKS - The Conejo Jewish Academy will hold an evening of remembrance April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in honor of Holocaust Memorial Day Holocaust Memorial Day may refer to one of several commemorations of the Holocaust.

May 5 deadline for teen council

MOORPARK - The deadline is May 5 to apply to be a member of the Moorpark Teen Council, which helps city officials plan teen programs during the year.
