SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - Ventura County volunteers will be honored at Interface Children and Family Services' annual volunteerism awards banquet April 21.

The event, the nonprofit agency's major fundraising gala for the year, is open to corporations, individuals and nonprofit groups wishing to pay tribute to volunteers who have dedicated their time to helping others.

The banquet will be held in the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Coordinates:

. Individual tickets cost $200.

Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $25,000 for companies or agencies who want to honor their own volunteers. Tables for 10 cost $1,250.

Based in Camarillo, Interface Children and Family Services helps in child-abuse cases, domestic violence, youth development and mental health issues. It also provides the 211 help line information for Ventura County.

Revolution redux Refers to being brought back, revived or restored. From the Latin "reducere."  at Reagan Library

SIMI VALLEY - An encampment and battle re-enactments will be part of living history events scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum's fifth annual Revolutionary War Weekend on April 1-2.

All events related to the re-enactments are free, including demonstrations of camp life, artillery, fashion and re-creation of an 18th century British recruiting party and the Battle of Lexington.

Regular admission prices apply to the museum, including $12 general admission, $9 for seniors, and $3 for children 11 through 17. Children under 10 are admitted free.

Work force forum to eye education

VENTURA - The Workforce Investment Board Workforce Investment Boards (or "WIBs") are regional entities created to implement the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 in the United States, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.  of Ventura County and the Ventura County School Boards Association will host ``The Future of Ventura County's Workforce: A Business and Education Collaboration'' on March 30.

The forum will focus on involving community leaders in helping students prepare for life by building a link between academics and vocational or educational career options.

``With this event, we hope to awaken the education community to the importance of work force preparation, engage school board members in providing work force education to every student and show business leaders how they can partner with the school system to produce more qualified workers,'' said Elaine Crandall, executive director of the WIB WIB Workforce Investment Board
