The restaurant was open when the gunfire occurred about 2 a.m. but no one was hurt, deputies said. Deputies said they don't know if the gunman targeted the restaurant specifically or had been aiming at someone or something else. - Daily News Search continues for dealer sniper LANCASTER - Sheriff's deputies were continuing to search Saturday for a sniper who shot a showroom window at a car dealership and then opened fire on sheriff's deputies. Several deputies responded to the first shots about 8:45 Thursday night at a Mazda dealership on 10th Street West, officials said. ``During their investigation the deputies encountered fire and ran for cover,'' said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lieutenant Ed Stewart. ``They were evacuated and by the time they returned, the shooting had stopped.'' No one was injured. The investigation is focused on an apartment complex east of the dealership where shell casings were found. Two apartments were searched but no evidence was uncovered and no suspects have been named, Stewart said. - Associated Press |
