Police seek help in worker's death

VAN NUYS - Police are asking the public's help in the investigation of the death of a 49-year-old gas station attendant who collapsed after being shoved many times by a customer last week.

Mohammed Delwar Chowhury, an attendant working at a gas station in the 14800 block of Burbank Boulevard, collapsed while telling police about an altercation he had with a man at about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department "LAPD" and "L.A.P.D." redirect here. Chowhury told police he began arguing with a customer who pushed him several times. When Chowhury tried to write down the license plate number on the customer's car, the customer began pushing him several times again and then left the station, the statement said.

Chowhury later collapsed while telling police what happened and died later at a local hospital, it said.

LANCASTER - A man was shot to death Sunday in the 1300 block of Avenue K about 2:30 a.m., a deputy said.

Deputy Alba Yates of the sheriff's headquarters bureau said the man, whose name was withheld, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests were immediately made, she said.
