Couple beat man, steal pickup truck

PALMDALE - A man and woman beat a man with a metal pipe and took his truck outside a restaurant early Sunday, authorities said.

Shooting leaves 1 person injured

One person was wounded in a shooting Sunday at or near Los Angeles City College Los Angeles City College, known as LACC, is a public community college in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles, California. A part of the Los Angeles Community College District, it is located on Vermont Avenue south of Santa Monica Boulevard. , police said.

The attack in the 800 block of North Vermont Avenue was reported at 8:53 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Grace Brady.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg wound, she said. Authorities initially detained two people, but no arrests were made, Brady said.

 suspects now in custody

Three male carjacking suspects were in custody Sunday after leading police on a three-hour car chase on city streets west of downtown, police said.

The late-model Nissan Altima was taken from its driver at gunpoint in Los Angeles sometime Saturday, said Sgt. Mike Patriquin of the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart station.

Rampart officers began chasing the suspects near Normandie Avenue and Sixth Street in the Wilshire Center area about 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Patriquin said.

The chase ended peacefully at Beverly and Occidental boulevards in the Westlake District about 11:25 p.m. Saturday, he said. The suspects, whose names were not immediately released, were taken into custody without further incident, he said.

Girl, 11, missing; seen with man, 37

Someone saw them running together toward Firestone Boulevard from the park, according to the Sheriff's Department.

``We know that the young girl knows the gentleman; as far as we know, that's the only information that we have,'' Sgt. Don Manumaleuna of the Sheriff's Department said.

Ramos is Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches and 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black tank top with gray jeans.

Two women killed in crash in forest

The vehicle flipped over the wall and went about 500 feet down a dirt-and-rock embankment, Clark said.

At about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, the driver used his cell phone to contact 911 and request assistance, Clark said.

Two female passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger were taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a hospital located in Colton, California within Southern California's Inland Empire. The director of the hospital is Dr. Dev Gnanadev. , where they were treated for moderate injuries.
