Errant shooting kills 1, wounds 1

The shooting in the 500 block of Union Avenue occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police Sgt. Mike Patriquin of the Rampart station.

A confrontation between two rival gangs escalated, and a man pulled a gun and started shooting, missing rival gang members, but striking the two bystanders, Patriquin said.

Police said the victims were among about 100 people gathered to watch a fireworks show at MacArthur Park.

Police withheld the names of the victims.

Fourth traffic toll down for county

Teen found dead Sunday near park

LANCASTER - A 16-year-old boy was found shot to death late Sunday near a park in Lancaster, a sheriff's deputy said.

At 3:09 a.m., sheriff's homicide detectives went to the 45500 block of Kingtree Avenue, near Whit Carter Park, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Alba Yates.

Man, 19, wounded in gang shooting

SYLMAR - A 19-year-old man remained in critical condition late Monday at a local hospital after a gang-related shooting, police said.

Police were called to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard The following streets are named Foothill Boulevard:

He is currently a Congressman representing Ica for the period 2006-2011, and belongs to the Peruvian Aprista Party. , 19, of Sylmar, the driver of a small compact car, with one gunshot wound to his upper body.
