ARLETA - A teenager killed in a street shooting was identified by police Saturday as Jose Enrique Arana, 15, of Arleta.

Police described Arana as a member of a tagging crew, and said the attack was gang-related.

Police said Arana was walking in the 14300 block of Tupper Street about 6:45 p.m. Friday when an attacker approached and fired multiple shots. The gunman got into a car that was driven by a second man, police said.

Paramedics pronounced the teenager dead at the scene. Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the Mission community police station at (818) 838-9800.

Woman murdered in dry-cleaners

ECHO PARK - A customer found an employee dead on the floor of a dry-cleaning shop Saturday, police said.

The employee, described as a woman about 25 to 30 years old, had been shot several times at L.A.'s Best Cleaners, 240 N. Virgil Ave.

She had been shot shortly before the customer found her about 10 a.m. Saturday, police said. No information was available on possible suspects.

Police arrest 20 in DUI crackdown

 - Police arrested 20 people as part of a crackdown on suspected drunk drivers, officials said Saturday.

Thirteen of the arrests were on suspicion of driving under the influence, and seven were for outstanding warrants or other violations, police said.

San Fernando Police Department officers made the arrests between 6 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies arrest kidnap suspect

VENTURA - Sheriff's deputies arrested a man suspected of kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Kidnapping may be done for ransom or for political or other purposes.  two girls in Saticoy, officials said Saturday.

James Apodaca, 37, of Port Hueneme Port Hueneme (wī'nē`mē), city (1990 pop. 20,319), Ventura co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; founded 1870, inc. 1948. It has an artificial deep-sea harbor and is the site of a huge naval construction-battalion (Seabee) center.  was accused of taking the children, ages 5 and 7, from their home Friday afternoon.

Deputies found the girls at Plaza Park in Ventura about 8 p.m. Friday, and arrested Apodaca about two hours later as he walked on Main Street a few blocks from the park.

The suspect, described as a friend of the girls' family, was being held in county jail.

Valley woman was victim in collision

CALABASAS - A 31-year-old woman killed in a three-vehicle crash on the Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. It is the principal east-west route through Ventura County and in the southern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  in Calabasas was identified Saturday as Norma Rivera of Canoga Park.

Rivera, a passenger in a 1988 Toyota, was fatally injured in the collision just east of Lost Hills Road, said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County coroner's Lt. Richard Hanna.
