Mom, son get life for man's slaying

A mother and son were each sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole for killing a Granada Hills businessman, five years after the two received an identical sentence for the murder of a wealthy New York New York, state, United States

Motorcyclist dies in crash on 134

Part of LAX plan ready for takeoff

An airport panel voted unanimously Monday to move forward on part of the Los Angeles International Airport modernization plan before receiving federal approval of the $11 billion revamp.

The Board of Airport Commissioners will begin seeking bids for the project, which involves moving the southern runway closer to the city of El Segundo. The improvements would be the first to be made as part of the renovation plan.

Woman in hospital after attack by dog

QUARTZ HILL - A woman was airlifted to a local hospital Monday night after being attacked by a pit bull-retriever mix, which authorities shot and killed, officials said.

Officials responded to the 4700 block of West Avenue L-14 at 7 p.m. after hearing reports of the attack, authorities said.
