Goss became the director of the Central Intelligence Agency Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (D/CIA) serves as the head of the Central Intelligence Agency, which is part of the United States Intelligence Community. He reports to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI).  on Sept. 24, 2004, after confirmation by the Senate. He leads all foreign intelligence agencies of the United States.

Orchestral music slated for March

THOUSAND OAKS - The Dorril B. Wright Cultural Arts Center in Port Hueneme will host the Conejo Concerto Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Osborn, on 7:30 p.m. March 5 in the first of two performances of Opus 11, a symphonic concert.

The same program will be repeated at the Scherr Forum Theatre, within the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is a performing arts and administrative center located in Thousand Oaks, California. It was built in 1994 on the former site of "Jungleland" at a cost of $63.8 million.  at 2:30 p.m. March 6.

The concert, the second of three in the 2004-05 season, is sponsored by the nonprofit educational organization Concertos with Orchestra, Thousand Oaks Inc., founded by a local resident, pianist/educator Edward Francis.

Applicants sought for transit groups

SIMI VALLEY - The city of Simi Valley is accepting applications to fill vacant positions on the Ventura County Transportation Commission's Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee and the city's Americans with Disabilities Act Americans with Disabilities Act, U.S. civil-rights law, enacted 1990, that forbids discrimination of various sorts against persons with physical or mental handicaps.  Paratransit Advisory Committee.

Maritime museum needs volunteers

VENTURA - The Ventura County Maritime Museum is seeking volunteers to begin a docent training program starting March 3 and running through May 27. Grant to help kids plant 445 trees

THOUSAND OAKS - A state grant of $40,950 will enable the city of Thousand Oaks to plant 445 trees along center medians on Lindero Canyon Road, Kanan Road and Westlake Boulevard, officials said.

Students from Thousand Oaks High School Thousand Oaks High School is a high school established in 1962 and located in Thousand Oaks, California. It is a California Distinguished School, and offers curriculum at all levels for Thousand Oaks students. The mascot is the lancer.  will plant and maintain the trees with the assistance of the city's landscape contractor.
