SPRINGFIELD - McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center's new CT scanner returned to service late Wednesday after an electrical fire shut it down Tuesday morning.

The cause of the fire was traced to a defective defective adj. not being capable of fulfilling its function, ranging from a deed of land to a piece of equipment. The scanner was not damaged.

The $1.6 million Toshiba Aquilon scanner, used to detect and diagnose diagnose /di·ag·nose/ (di´ag-nos) to identify or recognize a disease.
