Rummage sale to benefit domestic violence fight

Womenspace will hold a rummage sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week.  from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to raise money for its efforts to end domestic violence in Lane County.

Household goods and clothing in all sizes will be on sale at the Womenspace offices in the Haugland Building on the corner of 16th Avenue and Pearl Street in Eugene.

Willamalane Park to host free athletic competition

SPRINGFIELD - Athletes young and old can participate in The Willamalane Games from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Willamalane Park, 1276 G St., near the pool.

Participants who attend this free event can attempt to make the biggest splash off the diving diving

 will be available to customers beginning Monday.

The digest, which provides schedules and maps of all LTD bus routes, will be available at the district's customer service office in downtown Eugene, 11th Avenue and Willamette Street. The free digests will also be available on all buses and other LTD sales outlets.

Route changes reflected in the digest go into effect Sept. 17.

Springfield youth farm to celebrate harvest

SPRINGFIELD - FOOD for Lane County's Youth Farm will hold Farm Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Events include tours of the 3-acre organic farm, a tomato taste-off and samples of produce. The farm is located at 705 Flamingo flamingo, common name for a large pink or red wading bird, similar to the related heron, stork, and spoonbill but with a longer neck, webbed feet, and a unique down-bent bill. Casting call goes out for volunteer puppeteers

ROSEBURG - The Umpqua Valley disAbilities Network is recruiting volunteers to assist with performances for children in local schools.

The Kids on the Block is a troupe of educational puppets used to teach youth about disabilities and social issues. Participants need not have puppetry puppetry
