to speak at town meeting

Giancarlo Guerrero, music director and conductor of the Eugene Symphony The Eugene Symphony is an American orchestra based in Eugene, Oregon. Its home venue is the Silva Concert Hall at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.

Approximately 22,000 people attend Eugene Symphony's classical and pops concert performances each year.

Strength, conditioning

classes to be offered

COBURG - Coburg Connections will offer strength and conditioning classes led by Kay Blodgett starting Monday and continuing through Nov. 5, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"Get Fit with Kay" will include Pilates, free weights and stretching techniques and will be in the Coburg School cafeteria.

Coburg "codger ball" basketball will be offered Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Coburg gym. For more information, call 334-4705.

Tamarack tamarack: see larch.  center to hold open house Sunday

The Tamarack Wellness Center will hold an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the center, 3575 Donald St.

The open house will promote the completion of the salt water/UV pool project, the updated landscaping and the start of the fall workshops.

It will feature tours of the new landscaping and pool sanitation system, swim lesson demonstrations and free family swim, free yoga and music by the Sean Peterson/Tim McLaughlin Duo and members of Jasper Mountain.

CRESWELL - The Creswell Library will sponsor a Vintage Car Show and Shine from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the library, 64 W. Oregon Ave., Creswell.

The event includes a show and shine, an opportunity to explore the library's auto repair database, a sale of used books and magazines, and a Future Farmers of America barbecue lunch and ice cream. Admission is free. For information, call 895-3053.

Ex-legislative counsel

Kathleen Beaufait, president of Oregon PERS Retirees Inc. and former legislative counsel for the Oregon Legislature, will speak to the Lane County Association of PERS Retirees at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Campbell Senior Center, 155 High St.

Beaufait will offer up-to-date information on "window" retirees and on the status of recent rulings and appeals related to PERS. Coffee and conversation will begin at 10 a.m.

Free health and wellness event set for Monday

A free community health and wellness event, dubbed "Shades of Noun 1. shades of - something that reminds you of someone or something; "aren't there shades of 1948 here?"
