Springfield mayor to give State of the City address

SPRINGFIELD - Mayor Sid (1) (Society for Information Display, Santa Ana, CA, www.sid.org) A membership organization founded in 1962 devoted to the information display industry. With chapters around the world, SID hosts conferences in the U.S. and abroad and publishes a monthly magazine.  Leiken will give his annual State of the City address at 11 a.m. Monday, on the stage of the new Richard E. Wildish Theater.

The event is free and open to the public. The theater is at 630 Main St.

A reception in the lobby of Springfield City Hall, at 225 Fifth St., will follow the address.

The Willamette Valley The Willamette Valley (pronounced [wɪˈlæ.mɪt], with the accent on the second syllable) is the region in northwest Oregon in the United States that surrounds the Willamette River as it proceeds northward from its  Hardy Plant Group will host its annual meeting with a speaker and gardening mini-clinics on Tuesday.

The evening also will feature a garden tip-of-the-month from Liz Deck on `Hedges and Edges' and a mini-clinic on sprouting seeds by Josh JOSH Joshua

Winter bike prep, safety

Paul's Bicycle Way of Life will conduct the first in a series of Community Bicycling bicycling Sports medicine Main injuries Pain, numbness and injuries, primarily of the knee, but also wrists, buttocks, pelvis, carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve, skin breakdown of the buttocks due to overtraining, pelvic nerve compression, transient sexual dysfunction  Workshops on Tuesday.

The topic will be winter safety and preparation. Participants will receive special pricing on winter gear.

All workshops are free and start at 6:30 p.m. at 234 W. Sixth Ave. Refreshments will be provided.

Support group meeting slated at veterans building

A support group for parents of military personnel will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor of the Veterans Memorial Building, 1626 Willamette St.
