Historical commission accepting applications SPRINGFIELD - Applications are now being accepted for two positions on the Springfield Historical Commission. Volunteer commission members conduct tours of historical sites, organize historical programs and help the community develop an appreciation of its heritage. Anyone interested in serving on the commission can pick up an application in the City Manager's Office at City Hall, 225 Fifth St. The City Council will select commission members on Feb. 20.
