The Friends of Buford Park and Mount Pisgah will hold an open house and plant sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the native plant nursery.

The event celebrates the completion of a new greenhouse and seed processing barn and will include tours and sales of native wildflower wildflower

Any flowering plant that grows without intentional human aid. Wildflowers are the source of all cultivated garden varieties of flowers. A wildflower growing where it is unwanted is considered a weed.

Benefit Duck scrimmage brings in tons of food

Fans attending last month's University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  spring football scrimmage at Autzen Stadium The stadium is tucked between the Willamette River and Coburg Hills. The uniquely shaped bowl blends in with the wooded Eugene landscape. The shape also allows for unique acoustics, making it one of the loudest stadiums in NCAA Football for its capacity.  contributed 15,000 pounds of nonperishable food during the game.

The food drive benefited FOOD for Lane County. This year's effort eclipsed the 11,725 pounds of non-perishable items raised at the 2005 spring scrimmage.
