BRIEFLY.Byline: The Register-Guard Seafood festival begins at Charleston Marina CHARLESTON - The 16th annual Seafood Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Charleston Marina from 7 a.m. to dusk each day. For years, this fishing village has set aside the third weekend in August to enjoy the summer catch and celebrate the season. Festivities begin each morning with a Fishermen's Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. served by the Charleston Fire Department volunteers followed by the Merchants' Association volunteers serving a salmon and Albacore tuna lunch from noon to 3 p.m. Other activities will include boat tours of the lower bay and ocean bar, an open house at the U.S. Coast Guard Lifeboat Station, outdoor recreation and wildlife displays, live music, and handmade arts and crafts from across Oregon.
