Man found dead in Alsea identified as Albany resident

ALSEA - The body of an Albany man was found near an Alsea-area mobile home, and he died from a single gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

Jesse Dale Reesman, 22, of Albany, whose family reported him missing Saturday morning, was found Monday night, Benton County Benton County is the name of nine counties in the United States:

An autopsy conducted Wednesday confirmed the cause of death, Simpson said.

Officers continue to search for Shane D. Buckley, 31, who also has been missing since Saturday.

, 19, of Albany, who was seen recently with both men, is a person of interest in the investigation, Simpson said. He was arrested Monday night, charged with burglary burglary, at common law, the breaking and entering of a dwelling house of another at night with the intent to commit a felony, whether the intent is carried out or not.  and being held on $100,000 bail, Simpson said.

Highway 242 reopens after long closure

After being closed 218 days, state Highway 242, better known as the McKenzie Pass McKenzie Pass (elev. 5335 ft/1623 m) is a mountain pass in the Cascade Range in central Oregon, United States.

It is located at the common border of Linn, Lane, and Deschutes counties, approximately 20 mi (32 km) northwest of Bend, between the Three Sisters to the south and

The highway closed for the winter on Oct. 21. The 218-day closure was longer than in most years. The longest occurred during the winter of 1998-99 when the highway was closed for 256 days. The shortest closure came during the winter of 1933-1934 when the highway was closed for 96 days.

The McKenzie Pass Highway became a seasonal scenic highway in the 1960s when the Clear Lake-Belknap Springs section of Highway 126 was completed.
