DeFazio sets town hall meeting on Social Security

Rep. Peter DeFazio Peter Anthony DeFazio (born May 27, 1947) is an American politician. He serves as a Democratic U.S. Representative from Oregon, representing the 4th Congressional District and is currently serving his 11th term.  will hold a Social Security town hall meeting in Eugene. The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lane County Courthouse, Harris Hall, 125 E. State lawmakers to talk about legislation, budget

Regional exercises plan for health emergencies

"This was a needed first step to what will quickly become a tight network," said Elizabeth Miglioretto, Lane County public health disaster preparedness coordinator. "There were a lot of good questions and take-aways. And, there are a lot of job assignments to help speed the process."

Participants included representatives from emergency management, hospital emergency departments, hospital infection control coordinators, county health departments, state health epidemiologists, medical clinics, tribes and schools.
