ShelterCare provides

spring break activities

Area homeless children are getting some spring break fun this week because of activities planned by a local shelter.

ShelterCare has arranged daily activities for the 35 children currently living at its emergency shelter Emergency shelters are places for people to live temporarily when they can't live in their previous residence, similar to homeless shelters.  visited a Salem museum, the local Science Factory and Wildlife Safari Wildlife Safari is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that serves a 600-acre safari park of the same name in Winston, Oregon, United States. Public safety council seeks volunteers

Lane County is seeking applicants for the public safety coordinating council.

The council develops and recommends to the commissioners a plan for using state resources to serve local offenders, coordinates local juvenile justice policy and develops a plan designed to prevent youths from becoming involved in crimes.

The term of appointment is four years. The deadline to apply is April 21. Applications are available in the Board of Commissioners' Office, Public Service Building, 125 E. Eighth Ave AVE Avenue

Team offers training

in bird monitoring

Eugene Stream Team, in partnership with the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  Service Learning Program, will offer a bird monitoring training session from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday for volunteers willing to help monitor birds at the Delta Ponds once or twice a week, or otherwise interested in birding. The session will begin at the Public Works public works
