The center has made a gift of tickets to donors who contribute to the 2004-05 Annual Share A Little Love Campaign and its goal to raise $150,000. Greenhill still needs to raise $33,000.

People who donate $50 or more to Greenhill between today and March 31 will receive a pair of tickets to Gregory Popovich's Comedy & Pet Theater at the Hult on April 30. The show's stars are rescues from shelters such as Greenhill.

The Lane Transit District A transit district or transit authority is a special-purpose district organized as either a corporation chartered by statute, or a government agency, created for the purpose of providing public transportation within a specific region.  will discuss service cuts to the Fairview Loop in Springfield and other changes at an open house at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Housing Authority and Services Agency Community Room, 300 W. Fairview, Springfield.

The meeting is an opportunity for input from the community. Two of the service proposals, including the proposed elimination/shortening of the Fairview Loop on Routes 18 and 19 in Springfield, and proposed elimination or reduction of service in the Crest Drive and City View areas in south Eugene, received significant input by riders.

As a result, LTD will bring the meetings to the neighborhoods to discuss the future of service in these areas. In addition to the Fairview meeting, a joint meeting for the Crest Drive and City View neighborhoods will be held in April.

Volunteers sought for child care oversight board

Volunteers are needed for the local Lane County Citizen Review Board, which works with the problems of child abuse and neglect.

The board is comprised of volunteers who review the cases of all children and youths in substitute care, including foster homes and group homes as well as residential treatment centers A residential treatment center, often referred to by the acronym RTC, is a live-in therapy/behavior modification facility for adolescents who suffer from a variety of emotional conditions, ranging from drug abuse to violence to sexual behavioral problems. .
