Schools receive grants

for after-school programs

The Springfield and McKenzie school districts are among six districts and organizations in Oregon that will share $1.4 million in new 21st Century Community Learning Center grants for after-school programs, the state Department of Education announced this week.

Springfield will receive $538,333 for after-school programs at Springfield Middle School and Maple, Moffitt, Riverbend, Brattain and Guy Lee elementary schools Lee Elementary School is the name of several elementary schools in the United States:
  • Lee Elementary School (Lee, Florida)
  • Lee Elementary School (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
  • Lee Elementary School (Springdale, Arkansas)
  • Lee Elementary School (Tampa, Florida)

Volunteers to plant

40 trees on Harlow Road

The Eugene Tree Foundation will sponsor the planting of 40 trees along Harlow Road beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. Volunteers should wear appropriate work shoes or boots. Tools and safety equipment will be provided.
