Mail carriers to collect for annual food drive The second weekend of the "Cans for Carriers Who Care" food drive takes place today throughout Lane County. Residents can leave food out at their mailboxes for letter carriers to collect. All donations go to FOOD for Lane County. Last Saturday, carriers collected more than 66,000 pounds of food, which outpaced last year's first-day total by nearly 20,000 pounds. The goal this year is 120,000 pounds.
