BRIEFLY.Byline: The Register-Guard Holiday flea market benefits elementary school The South University Neighborhood Association will coordinate a Holiday Flea Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, with proceeds going to benefit Edison Elementary School. The sale will be in the cafeteria of the school, at 1328 E. 22nd St. Sale donations, preferably in good shape and priced, will be accepted at the cafeteria from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. today. Lane County letter carriers collecting canned food If you live in Lane County, your postal worker can help you take part in a countywide food drive today and next Saturday. People can leave canned food by their mailbox, and their letter carrier will collect it and help get it to FOOD for Lane County. The agency is serving more people with less food in its warehouse this year. The goal is to collect 120,000 pounds of food. Winter faire benefits Eugene Waldorf School The Eugene Waldorf School will hold its annual Winter Light Faire, a benefit for the school, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, featuring holiday crafts, caroling and bag-pipers, who will accompany a procession of children leading the way to a decorated Christmas tree. Children can investigate the Crystal Cookie Cave, the Solstice Game and Hanukkah Room and the Little People's Market, which admits children only for secret shopping with older student helpers. Music, food and beverages will be on hand. Admission is free, with a small charge for some activities. The school is located at 1350 McLean Blvd. For information, call 683-6951. |
