burglary suspects

A Eugene business owner used technology to thwart a pair of would-be burglars who stole tools and other items from his company early Tuesday.

 two men removing the tools, wire and other equipment from his property via a Web cam he had set up at home. He contacted Eugene police at 4:30 a.m. and provided a description of the men's clothing and bicycles and their direction of travel.

Officers arrived at the business, located at 195 Madison St., and spotted two suspects. Arrested were Mickey Lee Waggoner, 46, of Eugene, and James Dakota Deleon, 26, no known address. Both men were lodged in the Lane County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary and criminal mischief A specific injury or damage caused by another person's action or inaction. Police said the pair had cut a hole in a fence surrounding the property and loaded the stolen property into a bike trailer. The stolen items were recovered.

Creswell man charged with menacing, robbery

A man accused of firing a shot at the owner of a bicycle that he was stealing was arraigned Tuesday in Lane County Circuit Court.

A short time later, a person living on Anchor Road called 911 and said a man in camouflage had entered the house and pointed a gun at the residents before fleeing. When deputies arrived, a neighbor pointed to the man, who was running away.

A Eugene police dog and sheriff's deputies took the man into custody without a fight. Deputies later recovered a camouflage jacket and a handgun.

Holloway was able to walk away from the crash, but Duyck had to be freed by firefighters. He died Nov. 18.

The case was forwarded to the Lane County District Attorney's Office. The charges were filed Friday, and the case still could go before the grand jury.
