Science Factory puts on

three new exhibitions

The Nikon Small World Photomicrography Photographing microscopic images. Like regular photography, photomicrography has transitioned from analog to digital.  exhibit that opens Saturday at the Science Factory is ready for its closeup.

The exhibit features the winning images from Nikon's 30th annual photomicrography contest, in which digital technology is used to bring to life things usually not visible to the naked eye.

The display runs until March 20 at the Science Factory, 2300 Leo Harris Leo A. Also at the Science Factory this week is a Junkyard Inventions Competition, starting at noon Saturday at the museum. Kids and families are invited to team up to create their own catapults, bridges and skyscrapers, using recycled materials.

Admission is $4, free for Science Factory members.

Meanwhile, the planetarium planetarium, optical device used to project a representation of the heavens onto a domed ceiling; the term also designates the building that houses such a device. A modern planetarium consists of as many as 150 motor-driven projectors mounted on an axis.  at the Science Factory kicks off a new program, "Celestial Seasonings Celestial Seasonings is a tea company based in Boulder, Colorado, United States that specializes in herbal tea but also sells green and black tea (as well as white and oolong blends). They account for over $100,000,000 in Herbal Tea Blends Sales in the United States annually. : A Guest Series at the Planetarium," on Saturday.

The series begins with "Stories in the Stars," at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Storyteller Louisa Lindsay Sprouse and planetarium director Sue Peterson will discuss how a number of cultures have created stories about the stars.

Admission is free for museum members and $4 for nonmembers.

Preschoolers invited

to dance up a storm
